Established in 1951 vide notification No. 54/LSG dated 03.01.1951. The Municipality covers an area of 21.93 Sq. Kms with 27 revenue villages. There are 21 Wards. Total Population: 60,590 (Male: 31,481 | Female: 29,109) as per 2011 Census.
